My friend Alexia in Nashville went to a wedding this weekend and from what I can gather from her blog they got a little crazy with the sparklers at the reception. In any case, the result is quite possibly the greatest collection of sparkler art known to man…an umbrella, a dog, a cactus, wings, the state of California, and a hotdog to name a few. You should definitely click on the title of this blog entry and check out the whole set.

Also, if you’re ever in the market for a funky purse, wallet, diaper bag, etc. she’s an amazingly creative and crafty seamstress. Click here to check out her online store…Saki Design

Wallace Shawn

Wallace Shawn

A couple pictures down, there’s a picture of my daughter in the adorable outfit given to her by our friend in Hong Kong, Mary Allen.

While most people have said flattering (or at least constructive) things about this picture, Dave Donoghue offered the following:

“Is it just me or does Francis look a bit like the guy from the Princess Bride in this picture?”

Andre the Giant? Well, she is large. Cary Elwes? Billy Crystal? Mandy Patinkin? Fred Savage? Christopher Guest? I just don’t see it.

Wait a minute, he couldn’t be talking about Wallace Shawn, could he? Would a friend really compare my daughter to that guy? The guy who must have strangers lisp-yelling “INCONCEIVABLE” to him on the street daily? Dave Donoghue would, and that’s why we love him.

For the record, I think there is some similarity there. They both have big fleshy heads and eyes that look right into your soul.

Sally - I can't not tell a lie. There is a striking resemblence.

Sally - "Did you known.."
Geez… I need to just stop.

Propane summer toys?

Propane summer toys?

Ah, yes. I remember the propane summer toys of my youth. Who remembers those propane lawn darts? And who can forget sprinting across the lawn (making sure not to stub your toe on a sprinkler) and flinging yourself onto the liquid propane slip-n-slide?

Seriously, Walgreens, I expect a little more civic responsibility than this. You think you can get away with peddling highly combustible toys? Why don’t you just put those next to the russian roulette kits?

amber krizman - sounds like a lawyer to me, yup me thinks matt is responsible for this one

Thanks Mary (Peck) Allen!

Another wedding today, and Francis was the star again. She was wearing a head-turning ensemble given to her by Mary Allen, Sally’s college roommate.

Everywhere she went today, people would point and smile. I hope it doesn’t start going to her head. Maybe we shouldn’t dress her so cute. For her own good – so she doesn’t become an egotistical maniac.

Sally - Man, that girl can't get any cuter.

Dave Donoghue - Is it just me or does Francis look a bit like the guy from the Princess Bride in this picture? In a very, very cute way though Sally.
